Notre Dame Deal Gives UConn Fans The Boot

An idiotic and patently offensive story written (big surprise here) by a politician. Notre Dame is referred to as the "Fighting Leprechauns" and as the "Wal-Mart of college football." I'm not sure what that means, but I'm sure I don't like it.

Funny. It's all about bargaining. Notre Dame wanted to schedule a nice, but winnable game, they wanted to get more tickets for NY/NJ Irish fans than UConn would probably provide by playing at U of C, and they want big exposure in the NY/NJ market for recruiting.
UConn wanted to schedule a high profile opponent to elevate their program, play on national TV, and maximize revenue from the game.
The deal gives each side everything they want. Win-Win.
My guess is that the peeved legislator (or his campaign donors) has luxury box seats at UConn stadium, but will have to sit with the rabble at the new venue (if they can get tix at all). Breaks my heart.
