Despite the fact that Notre Dame’s rushing offense ranked in the bottom five nationally a year ago, the three young halfbacks seemed largely exempt from criticism. Much of the heat, of course, was felt by the offensive linemen – but a lot of it also landed on the wide and extremely powerful shoulders of fullback Asaph Schwapp. More...
Hopefully, not what we got last year.
I really don't see us using a fullback much this year...
I'm with you stonebreaker. I would love to see more 3 wide with one back. Say a speed package with Tate and Floyd wide and Allen in the slot. Then a change of pace with Kamara and Tate/Floyd with Grimes in the slot. No matter what, I am tired of Schwapp. At least Schmidt doesn't put the ball on the turf. That practice amounts to negative momentum changers which is something we do not need this year. Not sure why Charlie stays with him. Practice may be important (I am assuming Charlie is basing his evaluation on this re.: who starts) but if there is a consistent problem on Saturday, it should supoersede practice effort.
I agree. Schwapp does/has done nothing for me...no way in the world should a guy with his physical gifts not be able to go for 3 to 4 yards everytime he touches the ball...no freakin' way. Suprise me this year please.
